How to use a VGC team builder without trusting it too much
A weakness chart catches one class of error: several Pokémon losing to the same attacking type without a clean switch. It cannot tell you whether your lead survives Fake Out, whether Tailwind arrives in time, or whether a protected slot gives the opponent a free setup turn. Use the builder as the first pass, then move into actual doubles decisions.

Start with the six you intend to bring
Pick Pokémon manually or paste a Pokémon Showdown export. A real team is easier to improve than a generic tier list because every weakness belongs to a specific slot you can change.

Read the shared weakness rows
The type table counts how many members take super-effective damage and whether anyone resists or is immune. Three red cells with no switch-in is a concrete problem. One weakness with two answers usually is not.

Add the doubles layer
Type coverage is the first pass. Then account for speed control, priority, Fake Out, redirection, Protect, spread damage, weather, and your legal Mega or other format mechanic.

Save a version and test it
Copy the share link or export the team to Showdown. Test leads and four-Pokémon selections, note which slot stays on the bench, and return with evidence instead of changing all six at once.

That makes the match a much better building lesson than a loose list of popular threats. You can see exactly how two elite players filled the last slots, changed items and natures, and chose different ways to control speed.
The dedicated final page keeps the official result, public OTS, match video, and community interpretation separate. It also says what is missing. No published EVs or IVs means no honest damage recreation. No listed Replica Code means the copy button returns the visible open team sheet, not a code that never existed.

What the type chart can answer
The VGC team builder calculates defensive multipliers for all 18 attacking types across the six selected species. It shows 2× and 4× weaknesses, resistances, and immunities in one table. That is enough to catch a Ground-heavy team with no safe switch or a Fairy weakness spread across several core pieces.
The share URL can preserve a species-only team, while the full build URL preserves supported moves, items, abilities, natures, Tera types, and EVs. Showdown import is usually the fastest path if you already have a draft. Nothing is hidden behind an account.

A species type is not a complete VGC set. Abilities can remove or create weaknesses. Weather changes damage. Spread moves are reduced in doubles. Protect, switching, redirection, speed control, priority brackets, and the four Pokémon selected for a game all change the answer.
Use the red rows to decide what to test, not to declare a team finished. If a shared Ice weakness appears, ask whether your normal lead denies the Ice attacker, whether a reserve slot switches in safely, and what happens when the opponent pairs that attack with Fake Out. A useful VGC team builder narrows the question. The battle answers it.

Can this VGC team builder import Pokémon Showdown teams?
Yes. Open the builder, choose Import Showdown, and paste a six-Pokémon export. Supported species, items, abilities, natures, moves, Tera types, and EVs are preserved in the browser.
Does the weakness chart include doubles abilities and field effects?
No. The current chart is a species type-defense check. It does not simulate weather, abilities, spread-move reduction, Protect, speed control, targeting, or post-Mega stats. Use it to find a structural type problem, then test the actual turns in battle.
Can I load the 2026 Worlds finalist teams?
Yes. The Worlds final page has builder links for both finalists and copyable public open team lists. The builder links load the six pre-Mega species because hidden EVs, IVs, and some Pokémon Champions Mega form data are not public or are not in the current site dataset.
Is this an official Pokémon or VGC website?
No. PKMN Team Builder is an independent fan-made tool. Tournament results and rules are linked to official or traceable sources, and the site is not endorsed by Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company.
