A defensive utility pivot — Ghost/Dark gives it almost no weaknesses, letting it spread Will-O-Wisp, Foul Play and hazards while walling whole archetypes.

How to beat Spiritomb
Spiritomb’s appeal is having only one weakness and three immunities (Normal, Fighting and Psychic do nothing). So you can’t muscle through it with Fighting — you MUST answer it with Fairy, which is both its only super-effective type and safe from its Dark/Ghost STABs. Its stats are low, so most special attackers ignore its Foul Play and simply overpower it, and Taunt shuts down its Will-O-Wisp and hazards.
What beats Spiritomb?
The best counters resist Spiritomb’s attacks and hit it super-effectively. Tap one to scout it, or build a team around it.

Spiritomb in Pokémon GO
In Pokémon GO, Spiritomb is a bulky PvP pick (Sucker Punch + Shadow Ball / Ominous Wind) prized for its broad resistances; it’s a weak raid attacker, so keep it in the Leagues.

What is Spiritomb weak to?
As a Ghost/Dark-type, Spiritomb takes super-effective damage from Fairy. Pair it with teammates that resist those types — the team builder starts you off with Spiritomb and flags the rest of your team’s shared weaknesses as you go.
Spiritomb FAQ
What is Spiritomb weak to?
Just one type — Fairy (2×). Ghost/Dark resists Poison and Bug and is immune to Normal, Fighting and Psychic, which is why it’s so hard to hit.
Why doesn’t my Fighting move hurt Spiritomb?
Its Dark typing makes it immune to Psychic and, combined with Ghost, Spiritomb also takes zero from Normal and Fighting moves. Use Fairy instead.
